What is a Successful Wedding?

In the age of Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with expectations and pressure to make your wedding day the best day of your entire life. There are wedding parties on TikTok curating the perfect getting-ready playlist to adhere to each member’s individual music tastes; you see former fiances hashing out the nitty-gritty details of their wedding day they would’ve changed; there are hundreds of vendor options out there for personalizing every aspect of your wedding day, from dance floor monograms to specialty paper towels for the bathroom. It can be A LOT.

The endless options for what to do and how to do them on your wedding day leaves many couples thinking: how can I make this day the best for me and my guests? We’re here to tell you that the answer is far more simple than Wedding TikTok will have you think.

At the end of your wedding weekend, and years later, the main moments of your wedding that you’ll remember are:

  • Marrying your partner

  • Being surrounded by your loved ones (the amount of love in one space is unparalleled)

  • Created a day that makes you & your partner happy

  • Enjoying the day you’ve been planning for months or years

As wedding planners, our main priority of the day is getting you down the aisle and married because, contrary to what social media nowadays might have you believe, THAT is the most important part of the wedding day. Afterwards, its all about having a smooth and seamless event that allows you to have the most fun!

…which brings us to an important part of having a “successful” wedding day: having a wedding planner. If you don’t have at least a wedding coordinator working with you in the months leading up to your wedding, you’ll be in charge of your own decor, your own timeline, handling any mishaps that happen, and making sure all the vendors are doing their job. Having a planner on your side for the day-of allows you to relax and enjoy, which you’ll be grateful for for years to come.

Don’t be fooled into thinking every part of your wedding day needs to be the MOST unique and MOST fun day of you & your guests ‘ lives. It will undoubtedly be a beautiful and enjoyable day celebrating your love with your friends and family, and that is where the real success is. Forget the tiny Pinterest details and niche TikTok advice; take a deep breath and ENJOY your day!
