When every castle and estate is just as gorgeous as the last, it can feel hard to choose between venues in Umbria and beyond. Here are a few of my favorite Italy wedding venues to help make your decision a little easier.
Castello Vicchiomaggio
Just outside of Florence and not far from Tuscany and Umbria, Castello Vicchiomaggio is a castle that dates back to 1100 A.D. and hosted Leonardo da Vinci while he was working on the Mona Lisa. Situated on the grounds of a working vineyard, this ancient venue is perfect for history buffs and wine connoisseurs alike.
Villa Pizzo
Though not in Umbria, I’d be remiss to leave out Lake Como’s magnificent Villa Pizzo if you’re considering a destination wedding in Italy. With the longest lakeside garden along the lake, this historic villa is steeped in old-world elegance and baroque style for a truly unforgettable lakeside celebration.
Relais Histó
At the southern tip of Italy, Relais Histó is a luxurious five-star hotel that is home to a centuries-old olive grove and stunning lagoon views. Known for its peaceful setting and historic architecture, Relais Histó pairs contemporary aesthetics with ancient charm for a wedding venue that feels both intimate and lavish at the same time.
I Borghi dell’Eremo
Located just one hour from Umbria and two hours from Tuscany, I Borghi dell’Eremo is a beautiful estate that offers unmatched scenery of the Italian countryside. Their greenhouse venue is absolutely breathtaking, while their lush grounds are the perfect setting for an Italian garden party wedding.
Castello di Petrata
Nestled in the heart of Umbria, Castello di Petrata is a restored 14th-century castle that boasts ivy-covered stone walls, acres of lush gardens, and panoramic views of Umbria and Assisi.
