A Bright & Summery July Wedding at the Prospect Park Picnic House
Welcome to one of our brightest, design-focused, and involved weddings of the year! We began working with Katie & Aziz on a full-planning level at the beginning of 2023 for their July 1 reception. Aziz is from Toronto, so they had an intimate ceremony there in April; they wanted to organize a big reception for all their loved ones to celebrate their marriage in Brooklyn afterwards. The design was an important part of the celebration. They wanted the space to feel bright and festive so we brought in dense string lighting throughout the venue, lush and colorful florals (the fireplace installation might be our favorite Picnic House statement piece ever…), and a four-tier light pink cake with delicate piping. They honored their April ceremony by presenting their sentimental and hilarious “State of the Union” to tell the story of their relationship and share photos with all their guests that weren’t in Toronto when they said “I do.” Then, they ate the most delicious Israeli dinner from the amazing Miriam, enjoyed the summer night in Prospect Park, taught their guests the traditional Indian Dandiya dance, and partied the night away (with a late night pizza snack, of course). This wedding was a big one for us, and we’re so grateful for couples like Katie & Aziz!
