The Greenpoint Loft December Wedding
Rachel & Steve’s wedding was a wedding planner’s dream: a raw space to fill with beautiful specialty rentals, unique greenery, and romantic lighting, plus the sweetest couple to plan it all with! Rachel & Steve had originally booked BLB Events just for coordination services, but quickly realized their venue, Greenpoint Loft, required a bit more support. That’s when we start working with them through design. The day started with a church ceremony at St. Paul’s in Greenpoint, followed by a second line (shoutout to Hudson Horns) to Greenpoint Loft for the reception. The Greenpoint Loft reception was transformed into a party focused event. We created a cocktail-style format with various types of seating that offered comfort and interest, mixed toasts with dance sets, and a floating dinner & dessert service. It was more informal and relaxed than a traditional sit-down dinner and created an incredibly fun atmosphere for the couple + guests to enjoy the night!
In the months leading up to their December wedding, we created vision boards for specialty furniture rentals, presented them with 3D renderings to understand how their greenery + lighting would come together (read more about that process here), and created floorplans for a seamless cocktail style wedding. Visuals are so important to help a couple visual a raw space.
This wedding was the perfect combination of beautiful, elegant design & low-key, fun-focused flow. We spent hours on these floorplans and timelines to make sure their cocktail style event was balanced with dancing, speeches, and time to eat & drink. Cocktail-style events require lots of work to make them feel seamless and relaxed, but it was SO worth it.
We still think about this wedding all the time & can’t wait to put these skills to work again in 2022! Thanks to Rachel & Steve for letting us help them bring their vision to life and to all the vendors that made this night so perfect.
