The William Vale Summer 2021 Indian Wedding

We started working with this amazing couple a few months before their wedding and we loved every moment of it. From the intricacies of the traditions they wanted to incorporate to the numerous rain/weather plans, we discussed it all. We have experience with various cultures, wedding traditions and religions, but even with experience each and every wedding is so unique to the couple. Each couple has their own requirements, preferences and vision. That’s why we love weddings, nothing is cookie cutter. When we get asked to help a couple plan their day AND they want to add in various cultural or personal elements, we’re THRILLED to partner with them. We love nothing more than to take everything you want to incorporate into your day and make it happen!

Asha & Adi hosted their wedding in July 2021 and it was the perfect weekend! There was so much love, excitement and joy. While still in a pandemic, everyone was reuniting for the first time since NYC (and the rest of the country) was safely reopening.

They kicked off their celebration with an intimate Mendhi ceremony, where Asha and her family had Henna drawn. Shoutout to the talented NYC Henna Queen for the hours she spent on Asha’s beautiful henna. Pro tip: have others nearby to help you eat and drink — both your hands and feet will have henna on them and this process takes hours.

The following night, Asha & Adi welcomed their closest friends & family at a welcome dinner in the West Village. Rahi is one of their favorite restaurants and it was a perfect way to introduce their guests to NYC and everything they love about it. Rahi offers a modern, but traditional, take on Indian food. While guests enjoyed signature drinks, a family style meal and a henna station, Asha and Adi played the shoe game and got roasted by their wedding party. That night was an informal and fun event filled with so many laughs and tequila shots. It was amazing to see their loved ones come together and create the perfect prelude to their wedding celebration the next day!

The following day at The William Vale, Asha got ready at the hotel while Adi went to the barbershop with his dad. After they were dressed, they had an intimate first look and vow exchange with their pup, Churro, nearby. The ceremony kicked off with Adi’s baraat that led guests around the Westlight balcony to the roof of the William Vale. That’s where him and Asha got married in a traditional mandap ceremony. While guests joined cocktail hour, the couple changed into their formal wear and join their classic Brooklyn reception.

The florals by Elegant Affairs were dramatic and romantic, the city views unbeatable, and the ceremony heartfelt and happy. During their reception, they offered their guests a custom menu of many different cuisines to give them an authentic NYC restaurant experience. After sweet family toasts and loads of dancing, Asha & Adi definitely gave their guests the memorable night they always wanted to.
